LEO Pharma continuously partners with academia, pharma, and patient organizations to strengthen our portfolio and pipeline in order to pioneer within medical dermatology and rare disease with skin manifestations to improve the quality of life for patients. To address the huge unmet medical need for people living with a rare skin disease, LEO Pharma takes quite a unique approach.

There are approximately 600 known rare skin diseases or genetic disorders with skin manifestations, and in order to lead, we have to listen. The work with patient organizations is indispensable when changing the status quo in rare diseases. The Rare Diseases Patient Engagement Unit base their efforts on the credo “Nothing about you, without you” and apply the patients' input and expertise actively in their work. One of such input led to a special collaboration with an external partner, focusing on people living with the life altering condition; Gorlin Syndrome, one of many rare diseases with very few treatment opportunities.
