Following a strong interest in mathematical subjects at school, I chose to study mathematics at university. I specialized in economics which prepared me well for the MSc I took in statistics in my additional postgraduate year. The prospect of extracting conclusions and making predictions from data and statistics relating to people really excites me.

I work with a team of 10 very diverse biostatisticians with experiences ranging from clinical to production and non-clinical research. The dynamics at LEO Pharma are unique, and I love that fact that there is always someone who is laughing. As a statistician within biostatistics I get to work with all phases of clinical studies through its conception, design, conduct, analysis and reporting. Right now, we are in the closing stages of a project and it is super motivating to see the outcome.

If I could invite any life science pioneer for dinner, I would invite John Burdon Sanderson Haldane (1892-1964) a British born (later Indian nationalized) scientist known for his work in the study of physiology, genetics, evolutionarily biology and mathematics. J.B.S. Haldane made innovative contributions to the research field of statistics and biostatistics. He is also remembered for creating the words ‘clone’ and ‘cloning’ in human biology. He was one of a kind and perhaps one of the most brilliant science popularizers of his generation, and I am sure that he would have been very entertaining.
